David Hockney Biography

Bradford, England, 1937 ?

One of the best known English painter, printmaker, photographer and designer of the 20th century, David Hockney is considered by most critics to be a POP artist.

Trained at the Bradford School of Art (1953 ? 1957) and Royal College of Art, London (1959-1962), Hockney first gained recognition at the Young Contemporaries exhibition, in 1961.

The artist has been based in the U.S., for the last many years and has exhibited at the leading contemporary art museums, around the world.

He has also written books such as: David Hockney by David Hockney and That?s The Way I See It .
