Growing up in New York City, she was exposed to a a diverse range of cultures, making her question the things she saw in this environment. An experience most influential in her choice of alias and majorly in her work. As a native New Yorker, like a few select contemporaries, she prefers to remain incognito in order protect the freedom of her street art. Death NYC?s work is easily recognisable, whether on the street or hanging in a gallery wall, often subjectifying famous characters such as Disney, Monroe, and Obama, often taking a darkly humorous or irreverant tone.
