Spanish painter, printmaker and sculptor, with a legendary legacy in Surrealist art.
After initial training at the Academy of Fine Arts, Madrid, Dali initially experimented with a variety of styles, including, Cubism and Futurism. After joining the Surrealist movement, he is credited for creating some of the most iconic of images. His artworks, such as The Persistence of Memory ( MOMA, New York ), The Great Masturbator (Museo Nacional Reina Sofia, Madrid), Christ of St. John of the Cross ( St Mungo Museum, Glasgow ) are amongst the most popular paintings of all time.
