Matthias Kothe Biography

After an apprenticeship as a carpenter, Matthias Kothe studied architecture in Berlin and Weimar. It was during this time that he began to design furniture and concepts for interior design.

In 2001 Matthias Kothe founded the label komat. Combining art, design and craft, komat produces high-quality and highly functional design products, remaining true to the concept that a good and solid idea should, is and will always be the basis for form.
