Caldas Riosucio Carnival is one of the most colorful festivals of Colombia, is also non-material cultural heritage of Colombia.   Emerged in 1847 to become effective the bond between the people of Quiebralomo and Mountain. It originated in the feast of the Three Kings that Quiebralomeños had as great tradition since the sixteenth century and which cultural forms were mixed Spanish and African origin. At that party, mountain native brings fundamental elements of their two ancient cults, the cult of the earth symbolized by the "cane juice" and its container the "gourd" and sun worship, evoked in the lanterns and the jaguar own feline features, animal sacred to the sun symbolizing traits perpetuated in the carnival effigies of the devil. The party that has brought international fame to Riosucio is Carnival. Held every two years for the January 6, structured in the manner of a great ritual around the Devil.
