Droog Design

In 1993 design historian Renny Ramakers and designer Gijs Bakker of the Netherlands started Droog Design agency. They have produced some of the most talented designers in the past decade. They watched for gifted designers coming out of educational establishments and helped support them and helped them with the creative process.

The designs that they presented at the Milan International Furniture Fair in 1993, were highly acclaimed. One of these products was 85 Lamps, a chandelier of light bulbs by Rody Graumans that set design trends for years. Droog designs focused on moving between form, functionality and materials. They also had a pleasingly restrained design aesthetic.   They celebrated their tenth anniversary with an exhibition in Munich in 2003 and continue going strong today.
