Ross Lovegrove

Ross Lovegrove was born in 1958, in Wales, England. After he graduated from the Royal College of Art in London he left England to work for Frogdesign in Germany. He then moved to France and worked with a number of leading French manufacturers. By the time he moved back to London he was famous and set up a studio in Notting Hill.

Always versatile, he drew inspiration from forms created by nature.  This is demonstrated in his curvilinear chaises longues in which sensuality and ergonomics are united. He also creates objects that cater to the needs of their users. He has created everything from cameras for Olympus, the Go plastic chair, the Basic thermos, lamps and furniture. Overall he is regarded more as a furniture and industrial designer, as he has created the Coachline luggage collection for the royal family.
