Lith Film

Lith Film

Also “litho film.” Lith film is a film that produces an extremely high contrast image when developed with a lith developer. The result is a sharp black and white image containing no shades of grey, which is useful in the reproduction of line art and graphics.

The term get s its name because lith film can be used to simulate a lithographic effect. Lithography, the practice of printing using metal or stone sheets treated in such a fashion that ink sticks to some areas but not others, comes from the greek word “Lithos” meaning “stone.”
