In the words of this UK-born, Spain-based contemporary painter:I am deeply influenced by the colours and textures of Spain. In particular the Tarragona region of Catalonia. My work has a strong physical grounding but also shows the duality of our nature. I try to combine the obviously physical substances of the earth itself with a subtle and sensitive rendering of the painted surface, to show, through abstract means, the constant striving for reconciliation between our lower selves and our higher spiritual nature. this is a timeless metaphysical battle.
