Botero, Fernando

Fernando Botero
(Medellín, 1932)

Colombian painter and sculptor, whose work has evolved from Abstract Expressionism of his early days to his own very personalized styles.

The creator of some of the most well known artististic imagery of our time, his style varies from figures that look like inflated dolls to parodies of old masters and contemporary lifestyles. He has made several public monuments across the world, including the Broadgate Venus at the Exchange Square in London. A significant number of his works can also be found at Museo de Arte Moderno in Bogota, Colombia.
