Sir Alfred Gilbert
(Londres 1854- 1934)

British sculptor, best known for several of large public projects around England.

As an artist he is regarded as a leading exponent of Art Nouveau and his most famous works include the memorial to Queen Alexandra at the Marlborough Gate, London, Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain in Piccadilly Circus, and the tomb of the Duke of Clarence, Windsor Castle. Gilbert is also credited as one of the first sculptors to use aluminum in his works.
