Spanish painter and printmaker, widely recognized as one of the most influential contemporary artists in Spain.

Trained as a lawyer, Luis Gordillo initially gained acclaim for his figurative works influenced by Pop art. In 1967, Gordillo became a founding member of the Neo-figurative movement. Since the 1970s, his works have moved away from figurative to symbolism. He continues to be a major influence on the emerging artists in Spain.
